Hello Parents!

I have been asked many questions over the past two weeks. Here are a few answers and where you can find more, if desired. (And of course you can always e-mail me with ANY questions, comments or concerns.)

1- Practice Attire:

  • Dark Shorts: Dark Blue, Brown, Black- with very little if any other colors/writing on it (NEED TO LONG ENOUGH!)

  • Light colored shirts: May wear tank tops, if it fit well, and cover all straps- Need to be white or gray with very little and non-distracting lettering; NO "Spaghetti" Straps

  • Shoes: Need to be "Running" or Work-out shoes with good arch support. Because KEDS were cleared earlier, those are acceptable. No VANS or Puma, or such.

2- Calendars

The "NEW" Calendars have been sent out. Please read through them. There are times in which the band will rehearse without the color guard, but the times on this calendar are specific to the color guard. ANY CONFLICTS NEED TO BE PRESENTED TO ME AT THE MEETING LISTED BELOW.

3- "Mandatory" Parent Meeting

  • Wednesday, July 27th @ 5:30pm

  • If you can not attend this meeting, please e-mail me ASAP so we can meet and go over the information together.

  • I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know everyone much better!

4- Anyone interested in chaperoning or Sewing Flags (We need VOLUNTEERS, even to just cut fabric)

Please reply and I will get you in touch with the correct people. We need many parents with many different skills. You never know what you may be perfect for. Let me know!

 5- Weapon Auditions

Anyone interested in marching Rifle or Saber this fall, the official auditions will take place during camp on July 26th and July 27th. I understand this is a change, however, very necessary to give everyone a fair chance at a weapon position. You may chose to audition on both pieces or just one.

6- Sizes for Uniform

Anyone who did not attend "Open Gym" today (July 14), needs to call or contact Taylor Plourde (TP) to finish sizing. We can not submit the sizes until EVERYONE has been fully sized. If we wait much longer, we risk not receiving our uniforms for many football games. PLEASE DO THIS! If you need her contact information, please feel free to e-mail me, I can get you that information very quickly.

7- "Program Pictures"

At Home Football games you can purchase programs and a few gracious parents have taken it upon themselves to set up a "MINI PHOTOSHOOT" to have the girls pictures in the program. This is great for mementos, and perfect for memory books. WE NEED TOTAL ATTENDANCE ON JULY 25TH. This will be an all-day event, as stated on the calendar (a huge bonding moment for the entire guard.)

8- Website

A huge thank you to all the band directors for getting this info up on the website and for all their support and help!

9- Thank You

I have met nothing but smiles and helpfulness since accepting this position. I am so excited to get this season "officially" underway. If I haven't met you yet, I look forward to that opportunity. If I have had the pleasure of meeting you, thank you for the warm welcome!

Thank you again!

Ms. B
