Brandi Ball, Director of Color & Winter Guards

Brandi Ball is in her first year with the James E. Taylor High School Band. Her duties include teaching and choreographing all routines and performance material for the Color Guard and Winter Guard.

Beginning her color guard career as a freshman at Cypress Falls High School, she performed at both BOA Grand Nationals, as well as BOA competitions around Texas, and WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio (Scholastic Open Finalist 2006, Scholastic World 2007).  She began teaching as a technician at Cy-Fair HS after completing her first season of drum corps. The following year, she accepted a position as a head color guard director at Cypress Lakes High School.  She continued to perform with both Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (DCI Finalist 2008) as well as Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps during the summers. Along with performing outdoors, she continued to march winter seasons with Code Black Winter Guard (Independent World Finalist 2008, Independent Open Finalist 2011) based out of Houston, Texas.

Programs under her direction have won or placed at several local contests and championships in Texas. Many of her students have continued onto drum corps, as well as college color guard teams and winter guard programs.

Ms. Ball is working on a Double Degree program at the University of Houston in Mathematics and Chemistry, and plans on teaching high school math and science upon graduation. She affords her students many opportunities to make great friendships, but she also takes great pride in teaching them to to grow as individuals and become responsible adults.
