Spring Trip  ________________________________________________________________________

The 2010 Spring Trip will be April 23-25 to San Antonio.  The total cost for the trip is $475.  This amount can be paid through
fundraising, student/parent payments, or a combination of the two. The fee covers transportation on chartered, air-conditioned coach buses; festival entry fee; two nights hotel (Mariott Riverwalk); two breakfasts, three lunches, two dinners (one a formal banquet); DJ Dance; Fiesta Texas ticket; and Schlitterbahn ticket.

Click here for the Spring Trip Commitment Letter which must be signed and returned by October 30, 2009.
  Before your child can go on the trip, we must have an updated Consent to Treat form (click here for the form).  If there have been NO changes to your insurance information since you completed the form in the fall, you only need to fill out the box at the top of the form and sign it. If you HAVE had changes, you must complete the entire form and have it notarized.

Click here for the detailed itinerary, including instructions on packing, when to bring suitcases to the school, the mandatory parent meeting on April 22 and trip rules/guidelines and more!  It's important for all students traveling on the trip and their parents to review this document!
Here are some final trip reminders....
MANDATORY PARENT MEETING:  Thursday at 7PM in the Band Hall.
One parent for each child traveling MUST attend.
* If you were unable to find one, a notary will be present to notarize medical forms.
* Trip itinerary and rules will be discussed
* All luggage that is to be packed under the bus must be brought to this meeting. It will be sorted by bus in preparation for loading Friday morning. (See What to Pack below)
MEDICINES ON THE TRIP
If your child takes medicine on a regular basis that he or she will need to take while traveling with us, you must speak with Dagny Rosas at the meeting and log in the medicine AND the form. Even if you want your child to have the option of taking an Advil for a headache, you MUST bring it to the meeting and log it in with Dagny.
WHAT TO WEAR/WHAT TO PACK
Please check the itinerary carefully so you know what your child needs to wear on the bus and what needs to be packed for the rest of the trip.  Here's a brief recap:
* Friday on the bus:
Wear a white t-shirt, lightweight shorts, black socks, and dress shoes. Bring hanging bag for uniform checkout. Boys need to have their tux shirt, cummerbund, bow tie, studs, and cufflinks. They are going straight from the bus to the performance, so they need to have everything they need to look their best on stage in their hanging bag. Remind them to bring their instrument...
* What to pack:
   Friday for Banquet and Dance:
Nice clothes - like what you would wear to church. No denim or shorts.
   Saturday for Fiesta Texas:
Any blue Taylor Band or Taylor High School shirt, comfortable shorts and shoes.
   Sunday for Schlitterbahn:
Clothing appropriate for swimming and walking around a water park. Ladies may wear conservative one piece or two-piece swim suits. Do not pack anything that may be questionable. If your child wants to wear a shirt with or over his/her bathing suit, it MUST be a blue JET Band t-shirt or a blue Taylor High School t-shirt. Dry clothes to change into for the ride home.
   General:
Cellphone and charger, toiletries, snacks, sunscreen, camera, iPods, etc., and money for lunch at Fiesta Texas and souvenirs.
