JET BAND STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS – Week of February 20, 2012
GOALS FOR THE WEEK: ANNOUNCEMENTS: - After School Sectionals – Continue this week. There may be a modified schedule due to the short week. JV Band – Wed. at 3:00pm, Cadet Band – Wed. at 4:00pm. Be early to your time. - THSSO – today, Tuesday. Orchestra room at 3:30pm. Please be seated, warming up by 3:00pm. We have a guest clinician, Mr. Rick Yancey. Be ready for a great rehearsal. - Solo and Ensemble – is next week. Keep working so you are prepared! If your accompanist is Mrs. Ebner you should have contacted her by now and set up a practice time at her home. If your accompanist is Mrs. Dooman or Mrs. Wilkins be prepared to play during the school day this week and next with your piano part. If you have not received info about an accompanist and you signed up for one, see Mr. Bailey immediately. - Spring Trip – Rooming sheets are due by this Wednesday. Remember juniors and seniors if you want to room in a 6 or 8 person condo, see Mrs. Silliman - Percussion Ensemble Concert – is Thursday at 7PM. Make plans to attend. It will be a great concert. - KISD Rodeo Parade – is next Saturday. You’ll need your blue performance shirt, blue jeans, tennis shoes, and your marching instrument. You will meet at THS at 7:00am and you will be done by 1:00pm. This is a required event that all must attend. If you have questions, please see Mr. Bailey. - Winter Guard – had a great weekend of performances. JV Guard finished 2nd and Varsity finisished 3rd in their respective divisions. Please congratulate them as you see them. - Practice, practice, practice – This is the time to get working individually on your band music, solos, and ensembles. The better prepared you are individually, the better the group will be.
